Every individual on our staff is vital to our success, and a few key players coordinate the efforts between each part of our team. Our core staff members play an active, hands-on role at each event—meeting with clients, set-up, food preparation and event supervision. They have more than 60 years of combined experience that makes them effective leaders for The Event Group’s growing team.
Shellie Morrison caught the entrepreneurial spirit in 1996 when she launched The Event Group. As the event planner for the University of Arkansas Division of Continuing Education, Shellie learned all about coordinating corporate events, which is her specialty now.
As The Event Group grew, Shellie saw the need for an in-house, full-service catering department, so she created a catering division. It’s grown to be one of the finest, most sought-out catering companies in Northwest Arkansas.
As President of the company, one might expect her to sit in an office all day. Quite the contrary. Shellie’s duties include client relations, corporate event and social event planning, office management, and sometimes chief bottle washer. Her dedication to making sure each event is a success motivates Shellie to step in wherever needed.
Her experience is backed up and enhanced by a strong education. She has a bachelor’s degree in Arts and Sciences and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas.
Adam has been with The Event Group since May 2019, but was promoted to Chef status in 2020. His past culinary experience was at the Springdale Country Club and Big Cedar Lodge. A native of Dardanelle, AR, Adam moved to Fayetteville in 2014. His interests include golf, attending live music events/concerts and hanging with friends.
Ashleigh McKenna has been with Event Group since late 2017, but has been in the food industry since 2002. When she isn’t planning corporate events, she enjoys painting, crafting and numerous outdoor activities. Ashleigh holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and Dance from Hendrix College and an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Arkansas. She lives with her husband, Connor, and a very sweet and old dog and cat.
Sierra has been with The Event Group since July 2022. She moved to Fayetteville in 2013 from Las Vegas, NV, and pursued a degree in Business Administration from the U of A. Sierra worked as a Catering Sales Manager in the NWA restaurant industry prior to her job with TEG. Her interests include painting, hiking, kayaking, attending live music concerts, and hosting dinner parties for her friends and family.
